Detention

Juvenile Detention is a short-term placement, primarily after a youth between the ages of 10-17 has been arrested but prior to their case being heard. A youth who remains in detention after their case has been heard usually is awaiting placement in a home, treatment or other facility. Youth in detention are immediately enrolled in school so they do not have a gap in educational services.
